New Year’s Resolutions

I have always found it hard to get going on resolutions right when the calendar changes. December is on overdrive at work and at home. The restaurants are very busy and my personal holiday festivities whether it is shopping, entertaining or visiting with friends and family keeps me hopping. It takes me at least a month to get caught up and have life back to normal. To add new goals on top of this seems a bit much. It’s too abrupt- like going 100 mph and screeching abruptly to a halt. I need time to regroup.

So I start most of my resolutions in the spring. In January I start thinking about what I want to accomplish but don’t expect myself to get into full swing with it until March. This gives me more time to be contemplative and get used to the ideas. The one I have thought up so far is not to waste time or calories eating bad desserts. Every little bit helps.
