How to make caramel? Sugar, is that the only thing to use? Or something special to make a great taste caramel. Thank you for the answer.

Hey Em,

I am just getting caught up on the blog. Do you have anymore apircot jam? I am all out. I love the blue bowl with the sugar on the caramel posting. It remindes me of the bowls my mom used when I was growing up. I love warm caramel on gingerbread cake with whipped cream. This is also really good when warm apples are added. I think there is a receipe for something like this from your first book Stars Desserts.

Thank you! I've tried to make caramel at home four times now. It's only been okay when I add tons of cream to make a whipped caramel cream frosting. Just plain caramel with a little cream added for cupcake filling hardened into little rocks in my cupcakes. :( I've heard that adding butter helps, which I've never tried, but I see that it's included in your recipe too. I'm going to follow this when I give it another attempt!
